Intellisense Ships a Major Upgrade
to Intellisuite
IntelliSense announces the immediate
availability of a major upgrade to its popular IntelliSuite™
family of MEMS and Nano simulation tools. IntelliSuite
v8.1 (2006) includes several industry first capabilities.
"The v8 series of IntelliSuite has been a significant
growth engine for IntelliSense, enabling us to grow
over 100% year over year. We hope to maintain the industry
momentum garnered by v8 with the latest release. We
couldn't be more pleased with how the latest upgrade
turned out. While v8 introduced a new architecture for
MEMS modeling, v8.1 builds upon that with several new
enhancements. It is a must have upgrade." said
Sandeep Akkaraju, CEO of IntelliSense
IntelliSuite is a Living Design Environment™
that allows program managers, system architects and
electrical engineers, device and package designers,
process engineers and operators, and test and manufacturing
engineers to efficiently work together to create first-time-right,
manufacturable MEMS designs. Feature highlights include:
Enhanced meshing: Automatic meshing of complex MEMS
structures includes two new smart mesh engines -- users
can now choose between automatic manhattan and Non-manhattan
mesh engines. The mesh engines automatically generate
full hexahedral meshes from real world mask sets. Smart
meshing can optimize the mesh size for real world manhattan
and non-manhattan geometries. In addition a new grid
mesh is available for automatic creation of electromagnetic
meshes.
Coupled RF MEMS simulation: IntelliSuite ships with
a new full 3D FEM based Electromagnetics engine optimized
for RF MEMS simulation. The Electromagnetics engine
is coupled with ThermoElectroMechnaical (TEM) analysis
capabilities. Electro-mechanically deformed structures
can be seamlessly simulated for the first time within
a single software.
ThermoElectroMechanical Analysis: The TEM module ships
with several new features: simulation of switch contact
bounce, contact analysis with joule heating and piezo-effects,
improved performance for the Impedance analysis of BAW
and piezoelectric resonators. Other major features include
temperature dependent, orthrotropic and highly nonlinear
material properties, incorporation of nonlinear strain
gradients, electrothermal sub-modeling, enhanced modeling
of CMOS MEMS devices, ability to model Rejustor™
type piezo-resistive devices.
Microfluidic simulation: Support for Electrohydrodynamic
pumping, high frequency dielectrophoresis phenomenon,
flow through porous media has been included.
System Model Extraction: IntelliSense proprietary System
Model Extraction (SME) has been extended to derive Full
Lagrangian N-DOF (arbitrary degree of freedom) to electromechanical
contact based problems. Accurate transient, modal and
harmonic responses of the MEMS can now be derived in
a matter of seconds rather than multi-hour FEA runs.
EDA Linker™: IntelliSense introduces a new tool
called EDALinker. EDALinker exports IntelliSuite's FEA
based N-DOF electromechanical system models to a variety
of industry formats including VHDL, Mentor ModelSim,
Cadence PSPICE, Simetrix SPICE, HSPICE, and Mathworks
MEX. Users can now perform system analysis of the MEMS
device in their favorite system simulator without resorting
to grossly simplified mass, spring, damper based models.
SYNPLE™: IntelliSense's multi-domain system simulator
has been extended to incorporate process related effects
such as residual stresses, strain gradients, sidewall
angles and thermal effects. New Auto time-stepping algorithms
significantly improve the convergence of complex systems.
Synple also includes several popular MEMS circuits ranging
from high order sigma-delta circuits, digital phase
lock circuits and high precision capacitive readout
and linearization circuits.
New capability now includes the ability
to define Design of Experiments. Synple can now automatically
generate Latin Hyperspace (LHS), Hi-Med-Lo, Monte Carlo
and partial factorial experiments for System Optimization.
Total MEMS Solutions™: IntelliSense ignited the
MEMS industry in the early 1990s with its IntelliSuite®
family of innovative CAD tools -- and is now the leading
innovator and supplier of design and development solutions
for the MEMS professional. With users in more than 25
countries, IntelliSense offers software tools, custom
design, and supply chain management taking customers
from concept to market.
