MEMS-Based
Amplified Switch Filter Bank
Spectrum
Microwave (Delmar, DE) offers a MEMS-based amplified
switch filter bank that maintains a high linearity
over multi-octave bandwidth, with the lowest possible
current consumption. This 9-channel system features
a very low passband noise figure and moderate
linear gain, thereby maximizing the dynamic range.
The filter bank is designed specifically for RF
and microwave applications that demand minimum
steady-state power consumption, where continuous
switching is not necessary.
The device is magnetically self-latching, eliminating
the need to consume energy to maintain a selected
switch state. It consists of nine user-selectable
RF frequency bands from 20-500 MHz, and features
a filter-amplifier-filter configuration that offers
low distortion amplification of the input signal.
The unit requires a single +3.3 VDC power supply
and can withstand hot switching with a rated lifetime
of 100 million cycles.

Spectrum’s Integrated Microwave Systems
Group provides switchable filter banks, low noise
amplifiers, local oscillator multipliers, microwave
synthesizers, and integrated assemblies. The components
and systems are utilized in applications including
telecommunications, wireless, computer, medical,
avionics, and military.
