NanoDynamics To Introduce Nano-Based Golf Ball

NanoDynamics™, Buffalo, NY, will introduce a revolutionary new golf ball called the NDMX at the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show later this month in Orlando, FL. The NDMX ball incorporates the company’sNDMX technology, which improves performance by focusing on the physics of a golf ball’s rotation, and enhancing the energy transfer between the club head and the ball.apps_1_0105.jpg

According to NanoDynamics, rotation of a golf ball increases turbulence, which generates lift. But when the rotation is off-axis, the ball hooks or slices. By engineering the ball so that the energy transfer from the club head to the ball is more efficient, the golfer can generate lift and distance without as much spin. This results in the ball traveling far, but without hooking or slicing.

The technology also improves roll characteristics of the ball on the green, which results in more accurate putts.

NanoDynamics is accepting pre-orders for the NDMX golf ball, and has launched a new Web site related to the product.
